Cataracts are characterized as the blurring of the lenses in the eye. This is typically caused by the protein structures in the lens breaking down and sticking to the lens blocking the incoming light and making the scenes and subjects being viewed harder to see.
The condition usually comes with age but can also be a by product of an injury to the eye, smoking, sun exposure, ailments like diabetes, and, in rare situations, a baby can be born with it as a genetic disorder.
A cataract removal surgery can be arranged by a doctor to replace the clouded lenses in the eye with an artificial one.
